On February 24, 2022, by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin. the invasion of Russia against Ukraine begins. It comes in the wake of the Ukrainian crisis, born of the Euromaidan movement of 2013-2014 which had been followed by the Donbass war from 2014. In 2021 a gradual rise in tensions emerges, first by a prolonged Russian military reinforcement , unprecedented, on the Ukrainian borders with Russia, Belarus and Crimea annexed in 2014 by Russia, then, on February 21, 2022, by the recognition by the Russian President of the independence of the self-proclaimed people's republics of Donetsk and Lugansk , two breakaway areas in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine. After an incursion by the Russian armed forces into the Donbass, a general air, sea and land offensive was launched on the whole of Ukrainian territory on February 24.

When triggered, this invasion is considered largest military operation Europe has known since the end of the Second World War. Russia is accused, in particular by the West, of carrying out a war of aggression against Ukraine.

The country being bombarded, it becomes very dangerous to remain to live there. Many Ukrainians have had to leave their homes, their country. Carrying with them sometimes just a backpack, an unimaginable ordeal, even more so for the elderly and families with children. Seeking refuge, a safe place to sleep, waiting for this horror stops to finally be able to return home.

We must, because it is a duty, to support and help these people in difficulty. If it hadn't been Ukraine but France that had been attacked, we would all be very grateful if they helped us.
